Online estate sale rules
How the heck does this work?
How will the online estate sale work?
We of course want to keep our customers happy as always, so let us know if you’re having trouble navigating the website or with purchasing. It’s a learning experience for all of us!
There is no end time for these items like our usual in-person sales, so check back often over the following weeks to see what is for sale!
Items will go very, very quickly. Similar to other online stores. It is a good idea to prepare yourself if you had an item in your cart and all of a sudden it is no longer available when you try and purchase it! There is only one of each item.
What about receiving the item?
We will have three options for retrieval. Free local delivery (champaign, urbana & savoy), curbside pickup, and lastly, we are now offering a shipping option. Which is great for our fun, custom curated lots we have put together for purchase. Break up someone’s quarantine or work-from-home blues and surprise them with a fun and unique lot from an Estate Sale. Items will arrive beautifully packaged with a note about the items and the title given. You can find out more about retrieval in the section titled, “Pick-ups”.
What if I want to see the item or try it on?
Similarly to eBay, unfortunately you will not be allowed to try anything on or inspect beforehand. (Unless it has not sold online, we will have it at the estate sale to see) We will do our absolute best to include any scuffs or scratches that are outside of the normal wear n’ tear in the photos and/or description of the items. Please rely on the photos to inspect. Because all sales are final, you must be absolutely certain you are wanting the item you are purchasing. Please be aware this is a vintage and antique collection, items will most likely show wear.
What if I don’t like the item or it’s not what I thought it was in the pictures?
Sorry, tough cookies! As with our in-person estate sales, we cannot accept any returns, refunds or exchanges. Inspect those pictures and read those descriptions!
I see a grouping of items, but I only want one item in the grouping. Can I just buy that one item?
This was tricky for us because that is normally the beauty of an estate sale! Having the flexibility to do that. However, we will not be able to break up lots we have put together due to cost efficiency. We hope you understand and could possibly gift the other items you were not wanting. Thanks for understanding.
